Thanks to the ongoing support of parents and students, the Sherway Academy of Music ( originally 1970‘s Sherway Gardens ) has taught over 1000 students ranging in age from 3 to adults in Etobicoke South Toronto.
We offer private music lessons on piano, Adult piano, guitar, bass, voice, violin, viola, ukulele, and trumpet ( and the options are growing)

We are the only school in Long Branch Toronto that offers all of these popular instruments: Private Piano, Private Adult Piano, Electric, Bass and Acoustic Guitar, Voice, Singing, Violin, Viola, Organ, Ukulele and Trumpet. All in one location!

Our multilingual (English,Russian, Spanish, French, Polish, Ukrainian) and talented teachers have received their education and credentials from prestigious Canadian and World institutions such as University of Toronto, The Moscow Conservatory of Music , Perm University, McMaster University, Humber College and Guelph University. In addition they hold many Music Industry accolades including JUNO Awards , CIRA Gold recordings . Many of our teachers have toured with their bands and performed in Europe to Carnegie Hall New York. Awards and fame aside, all of our teachers have engaging personalities and will make the effort to get to know the students and parents on a first ‘name basis . Why? because they where once students too and appreciate how teaching ‘chemistry’ can make a huge difference to the success of the music learning process.

We know how busy you are with planning , driving ,work, school and appointments etc., so we every effort to accommodate your schedule. 3-9 pm Monday-Thursday and Saturday 9:30 am -1pm
4 Music lessons for all ages
Take a tour through our Academy and you’ll see children and adults of all ages experiencing the joy of music making. That being said there, are some minimum ages recommended for some instruments, see our guide on lessons.
ADULTS take NOTE!: It is never to late to learn how to play an instrument. We welcome beginners and all levels, no matter what your age!

6 Free music recitals and concerts in our beautiful historic St. Margaret’s Church
Every parent just wants to know how their child is doing and if they are really progressing. so the best way for a parent to understand if their investment in lessons is really worth it, is to have their child participate in a recital.
In May and December many of our students choose to perform in our biannual recitals. We hold these in our host church St. Margaret’s Anglican Church with a Casavant Pipe Organ Opus 1926 and a Yamaha Grand piano and all the sound equipment necessary to make you sound great.
7 Optional Music Examination preparation for THE ROYAL CONSERVATORY of MUSIC and Secondary School Credit Validation.
Should you and your child chose a formal course of study in piano violin or voice our teachers are fully accredited to coach your child with the preparation levels necessary for secondary credits. ( Grade 7 and Grade 8 piano count as 1 full credit)
8 Open door policy
You are always welcome to sit in and observe your child’s lessons at any anytime. If you prefer you sit in our lobby with free WIFI and enjoy personal time.
9 Fully stocked large lesson studios
Our rooms are stocked with everything you need for lessons, including guitar amps. voice amps and mikes , keyboards, Yamaha DISKLAVIER piano which records and plays back your child’s performance, and acoustic real pianos. All you need to do is bring your own instrument. The Sherway Academy has invested thousands of dollars on our studios to be sure we have everything you need to learn music effectively.

The Sherway Academy is steps from Lakeshore BLVD and Islington 7mins from Sherway Gardens . TTC streetcar and bus route steps away with a Starbucks, and Tim Hortons close by.

12 Month to Month lessons
The Academy does not require full semester registration for lessons . Every student is on a month-month basis .
